These past couple of weeks i have been reading several books on Jesus and who he was and why he was here. Death By Love and Vintage Jesus are both written by Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. In these books he goes into great detail on Jesus’s death and what it accomplished. HE said that one of the things that Christians often do is over look the actual death of Christ. Death by crucifixion is a most painful death. The word excruciating literally means “from the cross”. Death on the cross is not death from loss of blood or beheading; no those are far more comfortable than what it actually is. Death on the cross is death by the inability to breath. They suffocate, naked, in the equivalent of the grocery store or a mall. This death was reserved for the worst of criminals. It was so bad roman citizens were not allowed to be crucified. I am however unable to describe such a death; the book does a much better job at it. I think that Death By Love does a very good job at it.

What really is the difference between these two super heroes; they both are nationalistic (Patriotic) and both are huge public icons. I’m not going to talk about how Captain America is more realistic than Superman is but, I do want to talk about who they serve. At first glance it would appear that they both serve America when in reality one of them doesn’t. Superman serves the US government whether they are corrupt or not. He does what the president says; and if the president is Lex Luthor then he follows Lex Luthor. Captain America serves the American people even if it goes against the government. If “Cap” feels that the government is corrupt or its laws are oppressive then he will fight against them. I think that this is why “Cap” is more liked with more mature readers and Superman is not. Just my thoughts.

So i am in the process of creating, from scratch, a css page and it is kinda hard. However i believe that it is going to turn out well. Monday was my first day of work but, i didn’t know that until an hour and a half into my shift when my boss called me and said that i was supposed to work. So i come into work the mall is empty there is like 50 people there. So i am supposed to be the greeter yea…..for the 20 people that came in. AWESOME!! I was playing with a remote control car that did not drive straight and there was no way i could sell it, it may have been the worst remote control car in the store. Then they gave me a remote controlled thing, I’m not exactly sure what to call it but, it had a button a that made it go crazy and it scared kids. So my first day of work could be considered an EPIC FAIL.

I think that the Web Design Class should have an “Academy Awards” of sorts. I think that Mr. D should pick the 5 best sites for each type of site and during exam day or any other day we vote on it. I think that there should be prizes. I just thought that it could be kind of fun. If i could be any person in the world right now (along with skills, looks, and talents) I would be Frank Sinatra. That man had class, style, and all around coolness. I don’t think that there will ever be another performer ever that can compete with him.

This next part I took from Frank Sinatra’s official website and i thought it was pretty awesome, so i put it on here.

• Sinatra Style has sharp edges, attitude. It swings easily, but there’s a bite there. It seems casual and effortless, but it’s commanding. In Sinatra Style, ease and authority go hand-in-hand.

• Sinatra Style is the swagger. But swagger is not flash. Swagger is not ostentatious or showy. Swagger knows it’s damn good, and it knows you know it. Swagger is confidence, even cockiness, but it doesn’t need to show off.

• Sinatra Style is generous. It takes care of the little guy. It refuses to worry about money. Sure, you say, a guy can afford not to worry about money after he sells tens of millions of records. But Sinatra had style even in his down days.

• Sinatra Style is loyal. It likes to be around people.. But Sinatra Style knows about being lost and lonely. Hell, nobody is better at expressing that feeling that comes when you’re alone at the end of the bar at closing time in the wee small hours, and you know she’s not coming back. It carries that feeling deep inside, always. Maybe that’s why it’d rather be at a table of friends in that same bar, ordering up another round and holding off the night until dawn.

• Sinatra Style tips big. Real big. But it does so quietly. If the valet walks away with a C-note, that’s between you and the valet.

• Sinatra Style helps those who need help. But it never puts out a press release afterwards.

• Sinatra Style is scrappy and combative in an immaculately tailored suit.

• Sinatra Style is passionate. Maybe too passionate sometimes. Sinatra Style can be angry. It doesn’t back down from a fight. Maybe once in a while it should, but that’s not the way it works. No need to apologize. Leave it, and move on.

• Sinatra Style lives by a code—its own code, not anybody else’s code.

• Sinatra Style is clean and sharp.

• Sinatra Style likes its booze, but it is never a sloppy drunk.

• Sinatra Style wears its scars proudly.

• Sinatra Style likes to hang out in joints that boast a bartender who’s good at his job, a piano player who knows his way around the Great American Songbook, and a loose interpretation of closing time. A good Chinese cook helps, too.

• Keep moving. Do it, do it right, and move on.

• Don’t despair. Just because you’ve been up and down in life more than a roller coaster on the Fourth of July doesn’t mean that you won’t get another shot at your dreams.

• Sleep is overrated. Warren Zevon wasn’t a Sinatra guy, exactly, but that line of his, “I’ll sleep when I’m dead,” does have a ring to it.

• Timing is essential when you’re singing a song. But in real life there are times you just have to get there when you get there.

• Smoking is stupid. Sometimes you do it anyway.

• If it’s worth saying, Cole Porter probably said it in a song. Or Rodgers and Hart. Or Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen.

• Roll with the punches. Wear a clown face if the situation calls for it. Defy the system. You’ll scare the uptight, locked-in people, but so what?

• If you have talent, you must embrace it, nurture it, and share it, or it’ll be taken away as fast as it was loaned to you.

• Don’t stress. The overly concerned and sincere drive themselves crazy.

• On the other hand, it’s okay to be a little crazy. In fact, it’s essential.

Personally I would rather get paid for nothing, but then it wouldn’t be a job. The election was this week. I was disappointed with the results of the election. However the president is not really in control, God is. So not a big deal who won.
